For your Thursday afternoon listening pleasure, please enjoy the titular song from Wavves’ latest album, “King of the Beach.”
It was tough to choose a song to put up, especially when one of them is called LINUS SPACEHEAD (named after one of the worst games ever, found on the “Quattro Adventure” cartridge for NES - which contained the 3 other worst games ever. The music, however, was awesome, and the first or second level, if I’m not mistaken, was called “Life’s a Beach.”). Frankly, this whole album is a Summer Jam, but the song, “King of the Beach,” is an honest-to-goodness double-jammer.
And it’s also pretty easy to be King of the Beach this summer, when temperatures are barely breaking 80. Listen to this, and go spike a volleyball. Or stay indoors, and watch this video. It features a frustrated British child trying to film a walk-through of the aforementioned “Linus Spacehead.” Pretty hilarious, and surprisingly watchable, I think you’ll agree (though, just like the Wavves tune above, you’re going to have to turn up the volume to fully appreciate the jams):
NOTE 1: because this Tumblr post is an “Audio” post, you may have to actually open my blog to watch the video - you won’t be able to see it from your Tumblr DashboardNOTE 2: this child is playing this game on an emulator. You’ll notice that he’s able to restart at various screens, continue, etc. That’s why. When playing on the actual NES, one was forced to start the level over after dying. Every. Fracking. Time.
